How to find a product

Type a query into the search bar at the top («I am looking for…»), pick a suggestion or the «Search …» row — or open the category tree and narrow things down with filters.

From two characters on you get suggestions of three kinds: «Listing», «Category» and «Popular» — the queries other buyers search for most. Pick a suggestion to jump straight there, or click the «Search …» row to see all results on the search page. Search covers both the title and the description text.

• Be specific: «handmade ceramic mug» finds more to the point than just «mug».
• Add the material, technique, size or colour — they are often in the description.
• If you see «Nothing found», shorten the query, check the spelling or open the matching category.

The categories button next to the search bar opens the full section tree — from souvenirs and gifts to clothing, accessories and household goods. The home page also has the «Popular categories», «By section», «New arrivals», «Top listings» and «All listings» blocks — handy when you are looking for an idea rather than a specific name.

On a category or search-results page use the filter panel (on a phone it opens with the «Filter» button):

• «Price range» — the minimum and maximum price.
• «Condition» — «Any», «New» or «Used» (one option).
• «Location» — a city, with typeahead suggestions, to see offers nearby.
• Section attributes (size, colour, material and so on) — available on a category page; the global search does not have them.

Sorting: «By date (newest)», «By price (cheapest)», «By price (most expensive)», «By popularity», and on the search page also «By relevance».

• Choose «By date (newest)» to see fresh listings first.
• Open the seller's profile — the «Products» tab may hold other items you need.
